Federal Signal 2001

This siren was created in 1988 by the Federal Sign and Signal Corporation as a replacement for the Thunderbolt 1003. It was released as the 2001-SRN and has 4 variants:

2001-SRN

2001-SRNB

2001-AC

2001-DC

The SRN model is the base model; the AC and DC models represent the power intake each require. The SRNB requires less maintenance by removing the belt in the motor and replacing it with a more orthodox motor instead of a belt-driven one. Another model is the 2001-130, which is identical to a SRNB but is slightly taller. For the first 2 years of production, the 2001-DCs were sold as Roundbacks.
